In recently, music streaming giant Spotify launched its real-time lyrics feature for its users worldwide, across its supported work platforms. If you are a long-term user, you might remember that Spotify offered lyrics in 2015.With the launch of this new feature, users will be able to access lyrics of their mobile just by swiping up from the Now Playing screen. You can also select the lyrics that you want to share on the social media and any another third-party apps. This feature, first spotted by TechCrunch, was available only limited countries. It was first introduced for 26 markets like India, in previous year. The lyrics will be provided by Musixmatch and the company has said that the feature will be available across the 'majority' of its music library.
After repeated requests from the users, the Spotify Community has rolled out the real-time lyrics feature. It’s available for all free and premium users globally across Android and iOS devices, laptops, consoles, desktops and select smart TVs. Now, Spotify has confirmed that it’s rolling out support for the real-time lyrics for all users. The feature was previously available in limited number of countries. As part of the feature, the lyrics will be provided by Musixmatch, which is said to include lyrics for up to 8 million titles.
In additionally, the real-time lyrics feature will be accessible on virtually all platformssuch as iOS, computers, Android, gaming consoles, and smart TVs. Both Spotify free and premium users will be able to access the feature. Users will also be able to share the lyrics using the app to social media platforms. Spotify has stated that the feature will be available across the majority of its music library. Spotify partnered with Genius to offer the Behind the Lyrics feature, which gave small insight for the construction of the song. While it was fun, only popular songs supported it, it was only available on mobile and it was no replacement for lyrics.
Since 2019, live lyrics finally returned to Spotify, again thanks to a partnership with Musixmatch. Nevertheless, the users in select locations like India and Latin America had access. Some users in the US got the feature in early 2021, but the rollout was slow. It did not help that competitors like Apple Music offered live lyrics for everyone. Now, Spotify has got its act together. Live lyrics are available for everyone. Nevertheless, this does mean that Spotify has retired the Behind the Lyrics feature.
1. Choose for the “Now Playing View” option on the song of your choice.
2. While listening to the track, swipe up from the bottom for the screen.
3. You will then be able to view the lyrics of the song that scroll in real-time as the song is playing.
Users, share the lyrics song, can tap the “Share” button located at the bottom of the lyrics screen and then select the lyrics to be shared. Users will be able to share the same with third-party apps as well.
1. While playing the song, click on the microphone icon from the Now Playing bar.
2. You will now be able to see the song’s lyrics scroll in real-time as the track is playing.

2. Go to the right-hand corner in relation to the “lyrics button” to enable Lyrics. You’ll then be able to view the lyrics in the “Now Playing” for view.
